Our trip to the Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch this past weekend and had a fun time. Halie and Daddy chose a perfect pumpkin for us to carve. Then we checked out the petting zoo (Halie was really interested in the goats and pigs), the hay maze, and a wagon that Halie loves to stand in. We had a fun time and it was such a perfect day for the pumpkin patch!

We can't forget Cayden!

It seems that there's been so much going on with Halie this last month or two that Cayden's been left out of all these blog entries. Cayden is 16 1/2 months old and is a huge little guy! He's walking really well, though he usually chooses to crawl still at this point. We thought we weren't in a huge hurry for him to walk, since things become more complicated when they're mobile. But at this point, if he doesn't walk, he won't have a way to get from place to place because he's getting too heavy to carry! Cayden makes us laugh all the time and amazes us with his growing vocabulary. He loves his big sister (warms our heart when he says "Halie"), and she definitely loves him, too, which becomes a problem when she won't stop squeezing him and he screams like crazy! We're taking him in to get his first haircut in a couple days, so we'll put some pics on here of that experience...should be a blast! Cayden is just a joy.

Halie's Birthday Party

Today was Halie's very first birthday party with her friends, and we tried to do it right! We started out with a lunch of Macaroni and Cheese (Halie's favorite), grapes, strawberries, carrots, and fruit punch. Then we did a craft (handheld princess mirrors for the girls, cardboard swords with jewels for the boys). Then we did a treasure hunt where the kids had to find all of the loot for their goodie bags. Next came ice cream cake (Thank you DQ...why make my own when they make them so well?) and then lots of great gifts from Halie's buddies. We had nine 2, 3 , and 4 year olds here and it all went perfectly!
