Halie's Birthday Take 2!

Halie's Birthday started out with a special breakfast at home (she requested waffles), some play time with her new present (an art easel with paints, chalk, dry erase markers, and even a smock to wear), and then with a special trip to Lollilocks with mommy. We went and got her first official haircut! Or at least her first haircut that was not self-given! She got to choose which fun seat to sit on and even how she wanted them to fix her hair afterwards! She got glitter spray in her hair and a picture and certificate with a lock of her hair. She was pretty excited about all of it. Then we went to Starbucks and Halie got treated to a Double Chocolate Chip Blended Creme. She really enjoyed that, too! We went home, but her down time didn't last long...Daddy took her to Chuck E. Cheese to play some games. They had a blast. Then to her restaurant of choice for dinner. Sweet Tomatoes?? Isn't that a little odd for a 4 year old? We didn't care...we were just glad she didn't request McDonalds! Then back to home to open some more presents! This time she opened Apricot (Strawberry Shortcake doll), a little Barbie on an elephant, and some cooking items for her kitchen. Also, she got a Barbie with a swimsuit and a wedding dress with the veil, flowers, the whole works from Grandpa and Grandma Hemmert. She was a very happy child, but quite disappointed to have to bother with a sillly little thing like sleep!

Halie's Birthday Take 1!

Halie turned 4 on September 25th and we had a great time! We started the celebration a day early with our family here in Colorado...Halie's Aunt Nicole, Uncle Matt, and cousins Alicyn, Ryan, Macie, and Brooklyn. We had cake and ice cream and opened presents, and Halie couldn't be more excited. Her presents that night included a new Barbie with some clothes (and a dog that actually poops...big hit with the cousins!), one of those adorable Pottery Barn babies (Halie benefitted from having an aunt that works at Pottery Barn Kids!), and some great books from Grandma Torpy. She loved everything!

Broomfield Days

We went to Broomfield Days over the weekend of the 14th. What a great time! It's a huge celebration here and starts out with a parade and then there are tons of things to do...lots of fun stuff for the kids, booths for shopping, and food to try. The kids enjoyed swinging more than anything (though Halie did really enjoy the homemade root beer and kettle corn!), so here's some pictures of them enjoying the time outdoors!

Halie goes back to school!

Halie went back to preschool on September 6th. She was so very ready...she just loves her preschool. She has the same teachers this year, Miss Amy and Miss Linda, but all but one of the kids are new. She's quickly made buddies with a couple little girls in her class. Things are going great! Here are a couple pics of her first day back.

Summer Vacation 2007

Here are some pictures from our Summer Vacation. We started out at Copper Mountain for a few days, then drove through Utah to Salt Lake for a night. On the way, we stopped at Arches National Park. What a cool place!

A Day Through Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks

After our stop at Arches, we drove to Salt Lake and stayed the night so Jon could do a bit of work in the morning, then off to Pocatello, Idaho to stay with Jon's mom, Eileen, for a night. We got up early the next day to head out for Jackson Hole and Yellowstone.
